# How to Convert Percent to Decimal or Fraction (Video and Quiz)

One thing you should always keep in mind is that Percent (%) means ^{1}/_{100} . So If I want to convert anything it should always be divided by 100 or Multiply with ^{1}/_{100} it means the same thing.

Let’s try solving some examples.

**Question: **Convert 50% into fraction

**Answer:** 50% = ^{50}/_{100}

As we explained above you have to divide by. So 50% became ^{50}/_{100}

^{50}/_{100} = ^{1}/_{2}

So after dividing we got ^{1}/_{2}. This is the answer.

**Question: **Convert 50% to a decimal.

50% = ^{50}/_{100}

= ^{1}/_{2}

= 0.5

(if you divide ^{1}/_{2} you get 0.5 which is the answer)

**One last question: **Convert 30% to fraction and decimal

30% = ^{30}/_{100}

= ^{3}/_{10} (this is the fraction value)

= 0.33 (this is the decimal value)

(since it is not fully divisible, it will be coming like 0.333333333……you can stop at 0.33 or 0.333 whatever you prefer)
